Martin and I first came across Clos Marché earlier this year when we met winemaker Liz while studying our WSET course together. Clos Marche is a collaboration with her partner Skigh McManus, they are small batch winemakers sourcing parcels of fruit from single vineyards across the southwest of Western Australia.
Crafting wines with integrity, with the intent to express the unique characteristics of the varieties grown from our diverse and pristine wine regions.
Skigh began his career making wine in Denmark later relocating to Margaret River where he has been based since 1999. He has also spent time making wine in the USA, Spain, Canada, Asia and New Zealand. Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelor of Viticulture & Oenology in 2000, and has held winemaking positions around Australia and the world from Spain to Tasmania and Israel to Barossa Valley.
Both Skigh and Elizabeth have spent extended periods making wine in the Great Southern region and draw on that inspiration to source the Riesling, Shiraz and Pinot Noir for the wines they create.
We will have Skigh in-store this Friday, the 21st of November to take us through these really cool, expressive and layered wines.
We will have open…
Clos Marche Riesling 2010
Clos Marche Syrah 2010
Clos Marche Pinot Noir 2011
