I will be out of the shop for a couple of days having my wisdom teeth out, in my absence, I will have a member of the UK’s Code of Sommeliers Slav Malecki in store, taking you through 5 amazing wines for our Friday tasting.
California’s wine regions account for over 90% of the United States total wine production, tracing their roots back to 18th century when Spanish missionaries planted vineyards to produce wines for mass.
We are proud to have open the Bogle Vineyards Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for you to enjoy. The Chardonnay, receiving barrel fermentation in 100% new American oak compliments the riper, richer style this region produces. Smooth, generous and rewarding, yet complex and balanced. The Pinot Noir, with fruit from the cool Russian River Valley, coastal Monterey hills and the unique Clarksburg Delta, sees both American and French oak maturation, silky, fruity and refined, yet showing glimpsed of pipe tobacco and worn leather. A serious proposition, yumm!
Now too a few of our favourites from Spain. A tasty Rosado (Rose) from Rioja, a clever blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo and Viura. Fragrant, crisp and delicious, this Muga Rosado shows ripe peach and pineapple, with a soft and creamy mouth feel from extended lees contact.
Finally two Spanish Tempranillo’s, Castillo Albai Rioja 2013 and Protocolo Tempranillo 2012. Castillo is in the Joven ( younger ) style, with blue fruits, cherries, strawberry yogurt? and vanilla. Medium mouthfeel but with such generous flavours. Protocolo is more rich fruity, darker fruits and brooding herbs, come on down and enjoy!
