This Friday’s FREE wine tasting is the cool and boutique winery of Clos Marche, that sources parcels of fruit from single vineyards across the southwest of Western Australia. Clos Marché is a partnership between Elizabeth Reed and Skigh McManus, and they are up from Margaret River for the sold out Pinot Palooza event being held for the first time in Perth this Saturday.
We will have 2 different vintages of their exceptional Longley Pinot Noir from Denmark open , matched with some roast duck I have ordered in, as well as their ‘Red’ and ‘White’ single variety wines that offer absolutely exceptional value for money.
Open will be….
Clos Marche 2015 White:
100% Sauvignon Blanc from Margaret River and Frankland River.
Intense aromas of tropical lychee, guava and fresh pineapple. The palate follows through balanced concentration, showing gooseberry and cut grass. Time on skins gives texture and structure with crunchy acid giving length and poise.
Clos Marche 2015 Red:
100% Grenache from Swan Valley (60 year old vines, dry grown, organically managed)
Fragrant notes of cherry, raspberry and blackberry. The palate has fruit sweetness with a bright, vibrant core of red fruit. Skin derived tannins give structure and complexity finishing smooth and playful.
Clos Marche 2013 Longley Pinot Noir:
100% Pinot from Denmark.
Lifted notes of ripe cherry and dark chocolate with exotic spice. The palate has savoury complexity with bright red fruit and a silky mouth coating texture. The natural acid line weaves flavour and composition into a tightly wound youthful wine.
On this Friday the 31st of July between 4.00pm and 7.00pm
See you all down here!
