For this week's FREE Friday night tasting, I will be featuring some of the wines from my absolute favourite Marlborough producer, Greywacke!! as well as a couple of cheeky Argentinian Malbecs.
I had the privilege of meeting the owners of Greywacke Kevin Judd and his wife Kimberley on a fantastic trip to New Zealand last year. I had an absolutely amazing day, touring the vineyards and tasting fruit straight off the vines, visiting the winery and meeting the Greywacke team, and a highlight of the day, lunch and a tasting of every wine they produce, and can I tell you, if you haven't tried these wines, you need to be here tomorrow night!!
Focusing on Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, Greywacke have been at the forefront of the scientific research into the soil types and optimal clonal plantings suitable for the Marlborough region. The ancient, volcanic soils of Marlborough are perfectly suited to growing exceptional Pinot Noir fruit, while the much younger and nutrient rich alluvial soils make Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc the world famous variety and style it is.
We will also be featuring two little Argentinian Malbecs, perfect for the Australian palate , these wines are fruity and structured, with an almost meaty poise, intrigued, come and try them and find out for yourself.
Open tomorrow night from 4.00pm will be......
Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2014
Greywacke 'Wild Ferment' Sauvignon Blanc 2013
Greywacke Pinot Noir 2012
Alamos Mendoza Malbec 2014
Cantina 'High Mountain Vines' Malbec 2013
As always, the tasting will be hosted in-store at Old Bridge Cellars, between 4.00pm and 7.00pm , this FRIDAY the 29th of January.
See you all down here!
