OBC Presents Unico Zelo and Applewood Distillery

  • Old Bridge Cellars 221 Queen Victoria Street North Fremantle, WA, 6159 Australia (map)

Arvo Bridgees,

For this Friday’s FREE in-store tasting, we will be featuring the new and exciting creations from one of the youngest and talented couples to hit the wine scene in the last decade.

Unico Zelo is the exciting new label by Brendan and Laura Carter, out of the Adelaide Hills.

Brendan studied under Steve Pannell at S.C. Pannell wines, being responsible for the Jimmy Watson winning Adelaide Hills Syrah in 2014. His partner Laura is equally talented and worked at Henschke helping craft the amazing reds from this iconic producer.

Unico Zelo is all about making soulful wines that are accessible to everyone. Brendan and Laura have access to some amazing new Australian ‘Terroir’. Organic Fiano and 70 year old Muscat D’Allandria vines from Riverlands, as well as epic little parcels of Australian Nero D’Avola, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo which are generating some superb reviews across the country.

They apply strict minimal intervention techniques, 100% wild ferment, without the addition of enzymes, nutrients or sugars.

Not only are these guys are stamping their mark on the Australian wine scene, they are also keeping the spirits industry on their toes. This clever couple have also started Applewood Distillery, and we will be tasting for you their new Aussie Aperol and Aussie Campari!!!! Okar and Red Okar!!
