What's On At Old Bridge Cellars
Join us for a guided Mollydooker Dinner, where we’ll profile one of Australia’s most recognisable and unapologetically bold producers, pouring wines with big flavour, generosity and inimitable personality.
Founded by Sarah and Sparky Marquis, Mollydooker is a McLaren Vale icon, built on resilience, a bit of left-of-field thinking and an unwavering commitment to making wines that make people go “wow.” From humble beginnings to global acclaim, including multiple 99-point scores, they’ve carved out a reputation for doing things differently and doing it oh-so well.
This one is firmly aimed at those who like their reds with presence, wines with weight, texture and depth. (White wine drinkers, this probably isn’t your night.)
Across the evening, you’ll settle in for a seated, three-course dinner artfully devised by Ette, paired with nine standout wines. You’ll be welcomed with the iconic Miss Molly Sparkling Shiraz, before working through the range, from favourites like The Boxer and Two Left Feet, through to the showstoppers Carnival of Love and the flagship Velvet Glove Shiraz.
Along the way, we’ll unpack what makes Mollydooker tick, from their Marquis Fruit Weight™ philosophy to a winemaking style that leans into richness, texture and impact, without losing its sense of fun.
Expect serious wine and a considered dining experience, with a bit of theatre, plenty of flavour and wines that more than hold their own at the table.
If you like your red wine with a bit of swagger, you’ll feel very at home here.

Sunday; done well, takes its time. The Italian ritual of “Sunday Sauce” brings together connection, generosity and comfort, and this is exactly what we’re going for with this event.
We’re teaming up with Pasta e Fagioli, Perth’s favourite Italian-owned pasta truck, for an afternoon built around good wine and good food.
At its heart is the wine: 18 Italian wines that trace the country from north to south. You’ll move through at your own pace, with enough context to guide you, but plenty of freedom to compare and enjoy.
Around that, the experience fills out naturally.
Big bowls of pasta (via pre-order).
Scoops of tiramisu direct from the slab (for purchase on the day).
And Perth’s famous Accordion Man, providing an ambient soundtrack.
Jay will be manning a dedicated Amaro station, plus Negronis will be available for tasting courtesy of Chris Masten from Beyond Distilling.
Pre-order your pasta and your wine tasting is included. Choose from:
- Rigatoni al ragù: Rigatoni pasta, slow-cooked beef ragù / DF (dairy free)
- Mafaldine ai funghi: Curly fettuccine pasta, creamy garlic forest mushroom / VG (vegetarian) (including optional extra: Great Southern truffle oil.)
- Gnocchi Sorrentina: Soft potato pillow, tomato sugo, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil / VG (vegetarian)
La domenica, con calma. Sunday, at its own pace, with Old Bridge.
Please note: The Wine Tasting runs from 12pm – 3pm, with final arrivals by 2.30pm as it takes around 40 minutes to try the full line-up.
(Tip: if you’d like to avoid the rush, 1–2pm is a great time to arrive.)

For over three decades, David Ridge has worked across almost every corner of the Australian wine and hospitality world: importer, advisor, writer, retailer and one of the country’s foremost authorities on European wine. Particularly, Italian wine.
David has been instrumental in bringing some of Italy’s most revered producers into Australia, including names like Bruno Giacosa, Bartolo Mascarello, Giacomo Conterno, Brezza, Luigi Pira and Giovanni Sordo, among many others. His knowledge of Piedmont runs deep, shaped by more than 40 visits to the region and a lifelong fascination with Nebbiolo and Sangiovese.
This Masterclass is designed to explore Barolo through David’s lens.
Across the evening, you’ll work through 12 remarkable wines, beginning with two non-cru Barolos before moving commune by commune across the region, exploring seven of the most important villages and the dramatic stylistic shifts between them.
David will guide you “across the map” of Barolo, from the generally softer, approachable western communes through to the firmer, more structured wines of the east. It’s not an exact science, but it’s one of the most useful and fascinating ways to understand the region.
More importantly, this a rare opportunity to taste just how different neighbouring vineyards can be, even when the wines come from the same producer and are made identically. The final bracket will also include a masked older vintage to show how beautifully these wines evolve over time.
And because great Barolo deserves good food, Paul (“Sal”) from Sal’s Pasta will be catering the night with a selection of Piedmont-inspired snacks designed to bring a bit of salt, fat and joy to the table.
This will be one of the deepest and most rewarding Barolo tastings Perth sees this year.
We offer a range of ongoing wine courses in collaboration with The Wine Education Centre as well as Perth School of Wine.
